Spring Comes at Different Times

March 25, 2020

The forsythia is blooming today,
the violets, too,
and the daffodils.

I want, too,
to reach out to the sun in exuberance,
to burst with radiance,
to bloom.

But today I am still buried deep in the earth,
clenched too tightly
even to send out a bud.

I like this. Sometimes it’s hard to be patient, but you’re correct that spring does come at different times. Isn’t it heart-warming to know that eventually every flower will bloom? šŸ™‚ ~JudyK
